Precautions
We treat conditions including chronic kidney disease (CKD), acute kidney injury (AKI), diabetic nephropathy, hypertensive nephropathy, glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, polycystic kidney disease, renal tubular disorders, electrolyte imbalances, urinary tract infections with renal involvement, and anaemia of chronic kidney disease. Both OPD consultations and indoor admissions are available for all nephrology patients requiring medical attention and monitoring.
Our department offers OPD nephrology consultations, renal function test monitoring, urine examination, kidney ultrasound coordination, blood pressure management in renal patients, anaemia management, dietary counselling for kidney patients, fluid and electrolyte management, and long-term follow-up for chronic kidney disease patients. We coordinate closely with Urology for combined urological and renal conditions requiring integrated management.
Kidney patients are advised to strictly control blood pressure and blood sugar levels, follow a low salt and low protein diet as advised by their nephrologist, maintain adequate hydration, avoid self-medication especially pain killers and nephrotoxic drugs, and attend all scheduled follow-up appointments. Early detection and proper management of kidney disease can significantly slow its progression and improve quality of life.
